Horse Show 2018

The Horse Schedule is a work-in-progress programme, up to and including the day of the show. The Horse Show commences from 9am.

Whilst we use our best endeavours to ensure everything is correct, nothing is perfect, so we hope you will forgive us for any imperfection.

It should be noted that the Gymkhana is to be held in Ring number 1.

 

This show has qualifiers for - 

 EQUIFEST, THINK PINK, M.H.C.G.B and P(UK)

INSURANCE

All horse entrants should not that Crowland Show Committee are not responsible for any damage or incident caused by any individual, animal or vehicle. 

All equines on the showground must be insured for third party public liability and you will be expected to show proof if requested.

Please note that you are confirming your insurance cover by signing the entry form.

 


 

2018 Rules of Show:

 

  1. Equines must not be ridden or walked in pedestrian walkways
  2. The committee reserve the right to make amendments to the schedule or classes without prior notice
  3. All riders must wear correctly secured British Standard Skull Caps / Riding Hats that meet current safety standards. BSEN 1384 is acceptable. Handlers of horses / ponies competing in Handler / In Hand classes aged 14 years & under must wear a secured current BSI standard Skull / Riding Hat.  All handlers 16 years of age and under must wear a hard hat
  4. No trotting or cantering between collecting / warm up rings
  5. THE JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL. Any objections to be lodged in writing with the show secretary with the appropriate fee of £30 which is refundable if the objection is upheld
  6. No horse or pony under 4 years of age to be ridden anywhere on the showground
  7. Stallion and colts must not be exhibited by any person who has not attained their 16th birthday before 1st Jan in the current year
  8. Rings will not start before the times stated on the schedule.  All classes will run consecutively thereafter unless otherwise stated.
  9. No horses to be tethered anywhere on showground at any time
  10. No loose dogs permitted on the showground. PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG 
  11. Entry fees are non-refundable unless in extreme circumstance.

This year we are running a Dog Agility Programme which will be something we haven’t done before.

It's an independent Show with L & N Show Services.

Vintage Vehicles 2018

icon-vintagecarWe have a display of vintage tractors and farm vehicles including some stationery engines, as well as vintage cars and other vehicles.

A full display will take place in the ring during the morning and usually again in the afternoon.

 

We are unable to currently confirm details of the organiser of this section of the show but have in the interim, included is an application form for entries which will be passed on, as soon as the organisers details can be confirmed.

It's the Crowland Show 40th Anniversary Tractor Road Run on Sunday 8th July 2018

The Start will be from Crowland Caravans and Camping field (PE6 0JB) and it will follow a rural route around the Lincs and Cambs area covering a total of 30 miles!

Entry fee is £10 per tractor & driver

There will be a Prize for 'Best Tractor On Show'

The Women's Institute 2018

The Women's Institute (WI) was formed in 1915 to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then the organisation's aims have broadened and the WI is now the largest voluntary women's organisation in the UK.The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

The WI celebrate's its centenary this year (2015) and currently has 212,000 members in around 6,600 WIs.

The Crowland Women's Institute has monthly meetings which are held at 7.15pm on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the British Legion Hall, Broadway Crowland. During the evenings we have guest speakers and activities covering a wide variety of topics. We also have a separate craft evening once a month. New members are always welcome.

Women's Institute Programme 2018:

Please note that you do not have to be a member of the WI or a resident of Crowland to enter any of the classes in the programme.
We have external judges who arrive after the items have been set out.

Your entry fee is simply 50p per entry in any class. Children receive free entry.

Rules of Entry:

Entries to be in the main tent between 9am and 10.30am on the day.

Collection between 2.30pm and 3pm on the day or entries are left at owners' risk.

Under NO circumstances can exhibits be removed before 2.30pm

Judging will commence at 11am. Area will be closed off during judging

50p per class per entry, with no more than 2 entries per class. Children free.

Cups for 'Best in Show' and certificates for places.

No repeat items from previous years.

Amateurs only.

We aim to provide a balance of trades both in the Marquee and around the arena and reserve the right to refuse offers of trade stands for this reason.

Stall Holder 2018 Prices:

Pitch Size 3m x 3m - Outside: £25

Pitch Size Marquee 3m x 2m - Inside: £30

Charity Pitch: £10

Pitches in excess of 3m are charged per additional metre: £5

Note: Indoor pitches are now fully booked


Early booking recommended as allocation is on a first-come-first-served basis.
We are unable to provide cover, however, you are welcome to bring a gazebo or tent for your protection

against inclement weather conditions.

Insurance:

You must supply details of your exhibition insurance and may be asked to show your insurance documents during the show, or prior to erecting your stall.

If you are unable to produce the relevant documentation, you may be refused the right to exhibit.

Setting up/Breakdown:

Stalls are to be erected from 7.30am–8.30am on the day of the show.

You will be able to park one (1) vehicle behind your stall.

Please note that movement of vehicles between the hours of 9.30am and 5pm is only permitted with the permission and assistance of either a Steward or Health & Safety representative who will be wearing - hi-viz jackets.

Your co-operation would be appreciated as there will be a lot of horses, animals and people around and everybody’s safety is paramount.
